Why yet another DIY astrology book?
While there are countless books on Western Astrology - ‘Do it Yourself’ style, at the time of writing this book, there are very few on Mayan Cosmology, in English. There are powerful prophetic books and theses by Argüelles, Cottrell, Jenkins and Clow; There are prosaic divinatory resources like the Mayan Oracle, which has no ephemeris to show you your own birth sign – your ‘Galactic Signature’; there are numerous forms of ephemeris which show you your sign yet give you little or no information on what it means; There are now countless Mayan calendars being produced which provide the nature of each day, yet give you no simple guide about how you – specifically – can relate with awareness to the day.

At the one end of the spectrum are the historical/archaeological interpretations by Hancock and others of Mayan history, texts and culture. At the far end is José Argüelles’ awe-inspiring ‘university’ of visualisations (‘for evolving one’s DNA and facilitating galactic alignment’) which require the awareness of a wizard or shaman, and the dedication of a monk, to apply. Yet at neither end, nor anywhere in between, is a ready reckoner, with an interpretation aimed at the millions of seekers of self-knowledge intending to make sense of themselves and their 21st century lives.

As far as I am aware, there is no book on the store shelves yet – mainstream or otherwise – allowing people to find out their signature, and gain a meaningful and useful understanding of what that means. Any evidence of a market out there?

• There is now in excess of 3 million people visiting the ancient Mexican sites each year.
  
• Bestsellers like The Mayan Prophesies and Supergods by Cotterell, The Mayan Factor by José Argüelles, Cosmogenesis by John Major Jenkins and others, indicate a sizeable and growing thirst for knowledge about the Maya, the prophetic years 2012/2013, and what the next 4 to 5 years might mean for all of us.
  At the end of 1999 José Argüelles ran an intensive 7 week programme in Chile which I had the privilege to attend. Part of the ‘agenda’ was for 144 people to receive the ‘download’ of complex and critical galactic information he was receiving. The intention was that each person would return to their respective country and share the information with a thousand others, thus fulfilling the prophesies of many major spiritual texts, including Mayan, regarding 144,000 enlightened souls. This, and much of his recent PAN (Planet Art Network) work has created an immense wave of interest in Mayan Cosmology. There are now numerous websites including www.tortuga.com where you can simply type in your birth date and receive your Mayan sign. I received recent proof of the popularity of Argüelles’ work and interpretations, when I signed up to ‘skype’ -  the internet-based telephone system. When I tried to use my Mayan sign as my Skype name - ‘9 Eagle’ – I received the response “unavailable – try 9 Eagle 5226”. If this is the same for all 260 signs, that would seem to point to an excess of 10 million people who are Skype users, who know their Mayan sign, who ascribe significance to that sign, and who are prepared to ‘wear it on their sleeve’.

Why NOW!?
“There is nothing so powerful as an idea whose time has come”.

An event can be seen to happen in terms of an “event Horizon” – an idea whose time has come:

• On 17th August 1987 (prior to the era of personal e-mail), hundreds of thousands of people connected in prayer across the globe for the Harmonic Convergence – it was an event horizon - part of the unfolding of a larger picture, and synchronized with the greater cycles of Time.
  
• Similarly, in 1952, Pacal Votan’s tomb at Palenque in Mexico ‘Temple of the Inscriptions’ – probably the most important of all Mayan Discoveries -  was unearthed, exactly 1320 years after the birth of Pacal and 1260 years after his death. 1320 is an inversion of 2013, the year of galactic alignment, and the embracing of the cycles of ‘13’ and ‘20’ in the ratio of 13:20, of the Sacred Tzolkin cycle of 260 days (13 x 20). 1260 is the basis of the ratio 12:60 (referred to by Arguelles as the artificial timing frequency) symbolizing the Gregorian system of 12 months, 12 hour clock face, 60 minutes and 60 seconds. This is the system that would ‘die’ if/when the Mayan calendar of 13 moons is  re-embraced.
  
• Many prophesies are pointing to the time we are living in right NOW: Barbara Hand Clow in her channelled work claims that by 2001 “the sun will be wholly in the Photon Band. You will have amazing records to work with because ancient wisdom will be completely available…Between 2001 and 2010 you will rebuild your world”; In the Galactic Human Handbook and in many other ‘channelled’/prophetic writings, José Argüelles refers to the Earth year 2004-2005 of Blue Crystal Storm as the universalizing of transformation, and the fifth and key year of “Heaven on Earth”(We are now in Yellow Cosmic Seed, the transcending of old patterns and the celebrating of the New); In ‘Vision’ another channelled work, Ken Carey refers to books and educational programmes teaching love, and “history being transformed by the middle of the first decade of the 21st Century”; and there are countless more relating to these times…

All the information in The Mayan-Galactic Codes is either directly channelled/inspired, or, if not, has been double-checked with Spirit; It is completely positive galactic information, the first of a swathe of educational books, tools, games and programmes I am producing that teach love, creation and transformation.
